Roller Skating

There will be a monthly homeschool roller skating activity throughout the '11-'12 school year, hosted and coordinated by the North Knox Homeschool Network. This event is open to all homeschoolers in the Knoxville area who would like to attend. It will be held the 2nd Tuesday (*changed to Tuesdays this year) of every month from September through May, from 1:30 to 3:30pm at Skatetown in Fountain City/North Knoxville (5713/5 N. Broadway; rink 865-688-1981). The cost is only $3, plus an additional $1 skate rental fee, if skates are needed (or $2 for roller blades/inline skates rental). There is no charge for people who do not wish to skate. There is no reservation/sign-up required, just come when you can!

There is a snack bar, plenty of tables to sit at and eat or just talk (great for moms who just want to chat), video games, etc. There are races and other fun rink games, as well. This is a great way for parents and students of all ages to get some exercise (especially ideal during the typically inactive winter months). Mark your calendars now so you won't miss any of them!

Please keep in mind that we are a direct reflection of the home school community. We want to represent it well. We also want to be welcomed back each year to the skating rink. With that in mind, please note that each parent or guardian is responsible for their own children during this time (clean up own mess, behavior, modest dress, etc.). We want to leave the rink in a better condition than when we entered. We also ask that you do not drop off your kids, unless you have pre-arranged for another parent in attendance to watch and care for your child(ren).
